Who it's for

Built for outfits that self-perform

You own an erection company, run projects for one, or you're the superintendent for a GC that self-performs its steel and envelope. The work is booked and the schedule is set. What's missing is hands: your own crews are committed to another job, a sub fell through, or the owner pulled the date forward.

That is the gap we fill. Alpha Labor Co. is construction staffing built for one corner of the industry: pre-engineered metal buildings, insulated metal panels, and the steel and envelope work around them. We supply foreman-led crews that work under your scope, and we stay out of your contract.

If you need a general labor pool for cleanup, flagging, or interior trades, a generalist agency will serve you better. If you need people who already know a girt from a purlin, keep reading.

What you get

What comes with every crew

01

W-2 employees, every hand

No 1099s and no subcontracted labor. Alpha Labor is the employer of record, so payroll, payroll taxes, and workers’ compensation sit on our side of the line, not yours.

02

A foreman with the crew

Every crew is foreman-led. Your superintendent sets the priorities; our foreman turns them into the day’s plan and directs our hands on the steel.

03

E-Verify on every hire

Every worker we put on your site is E-Verified at hire, which matters on jobs where the owner or GC checks the workforce at the gate.

04

Licensed and bonded in all 50 states

One labor supplier wherever the job is. Crews travel from our Kansas City base, so a job three states away doesn’t need a new vendor or a new onboarding packet.

05

On site within 24 hours

A 4- to 15-person crew can be on your site within 24 hours. Full hyperscale mobilizations are planned with you and take about two weeks.

06

A record you can put in a prequal

2M+ hours worked with zero injuries and a 0.71 EMR, where the industry baseline is 1.00 and lower is safer.

How it works

From the call to the crew

  1. Tell us the job

Scope, building type, square footage, location, start date, and how many hands. Call (772) 285-6009 or send a crew request. A phone call is fastest when the date is close.

  2. We match the crew

A field ops manager reviews the request personally and builds the crew from hands who have done that scope, led by a foreman who has run it.

  3. We carry the employer side

Onboarding, E-Verify, W-2 payroll, and workers’ compensation are ours. Nothing new lands on your payroll or your comp policy.

  4. The crew mobilizes

Crews travel from our Kansas City base. A 4- to 15-person crew is on site within 24 hours; larger mobilizations are scheduled with you.

  5. Our foreman meets your super

On the first morning, our foreman walks the job with your superintendent, takes the sequence and the priorities, and gets the crew working.

  6. Scale with the schedule

Add hands for dry-in, release them at punch. The crew size follows your schedule, and you only carry the people the work needs this week.

The difference

Specialist crews, not a temp agency

We are a staffing company: the specialist staffing company for PEMB and IMP work, not a generalist temp agency. Here is what that difference looks like on a jobsite.

What you keep

What stays yours

Staffing with us does not hand your job to someone else. Alpha Labor is not a general contractor, and we do not take over or warranty your scope. You are buying labor, not awarding a subcontract, and we bill for the hours our crew works.

  • The contract with the owner or the GC
  • The scope, and acceptance of the work
  • The sequence, the schedule, and your site safety plan
  • Your relationships with the owner, the manufacturer, and the inspector

What we own is the crew: hiring, payroll, workers’ comp, E-Verify, and the foreman who directs our hands day to day. When the job is done, the building and the customer are still yours.

Trades we staff

One staffing call covers the metal building envelope, from the frame to the trim. Each trade has its own page. Running structural steel too? See steel erection & ironworker staffing.

FAQ

Common questions

Are you a staffing company or a subcontractor?

A staffing company: the specialist staffing company for PEMB and IMP work, not a generalist temp agency. Alpha Labor Co. is the employer of record for every hand on the crew. You keep the contract, the scope, and the sequence, and our foreman runs our crew day to day. We are not a general contractor and we do not take over your scope.

How fast can you get a crew on my site?

A 4- to 15-person crew can be on site within 24 hours anywhere in the continental U.S. Full hyperscale mobilizations take about two weeks of planning. Call (772) 285-6009 when the date is close.

Who supervises your crew on my job?

Our foreman. Every crew comes with one. Your superintendent sets the sequence and the priorities, and our foreman directs our hands day to day, so your super is not stuck running a second crew.

Are your hands general laborers?

No. Our crews work PEMB erection, IMP installation, metal roofing, wall panels, and insulation. They already know the sequence of a metal building, which is the point of using a specialist instead of a general labor pool.

Are your workers W-2 employees or 1099 contractors?

W-2 employees of Alpha Labor Co., every one, and each is E-Verified at hire. We carry payroll, payroll taxes, and workers’ compensation, and we are licensed and bonded in all 50 states.

Can we add or cut hands as the job moves?

Yes. Most jobs need more hands at dry-in and fewer at punch. Tell your Alpha Labor contact what the next week looks like and the crew size follows the schedule.

Do you only work near Kansas City?

No. Crews travel from our Kansas City base to jobs in all 50 states. Call (772) 285-6009 or send a crew request with the job location.

Short on hands? Request a crew.

A field ops manager reviews every request personally, usually within a few hours on business days. Tell us the scope, the location, and the start date.
