Who it's for

Built for MEP contractors short on hands

You hold the license and the job is booked. The manpower curve is the problem: rough-in and equipment set peak at once, a job goes out of town, or the next phase needs more people than your shop carries.

Alpha Labor Co. supplies the people. We are a staffing company, not an electrical, mechanical, or plumbing contractor. We don’t bid MEP work, pull permits, or take a scope. You keep all of that, and our people work under your direction.

If you are a property owner or a GC looking for someone to do MEP work, we are not the call. Talk to a licensed contractor in that trade, and have them call us if they need people.

Three trades

One call, three trades

Each trade is recruited, screened, and licensed on its own. Nobody is sent to do work outside the license they hold.

The work

Where we start

We keep each specialty separate and check experience for each one. General commercial experience doesn’t qualify someone for mission critical work.

01

Data centers and mission critical

New construction, expansions, and equipment installation, where the electrical and mechanical crews peak together. We screen for large feeders, switchgear and UPS work, chilled water piping, equipment setting, quality records, and procedure discipline.

02

Commercial

Retail, offices, hospitality, and tenant improvements. We screen for rough-in, trim-out, and plan reading, in each trade.

03

Specialists, tracked separately

Commissioning support, medium voltage terminations, controls and instrumentation, pipe welding, and medical gas are separate designations. Each takes demonstrated experience and any required certification.

Who we supply

Four classifications in every trade

01

Superintendents

Leadership across crews or work areas: manpower planning, coordination with the other trades, safety, quality, and schedule. Checked through project history, references, and a technical interview.

02

Foremen

Run a crew in their trade, read the drawings, plan the day, track production, and train apprentices. Checked through references, a drawing review, and a technical assessment.

03

Journeymen

Journeyman-level work within the scope their license allows. Checked through the license, experience, a skills assessment, and references.

04

Apprentices and helpers

Assigned work under the supervision your state requires. Checked through registration where required, plus documented hours and training. Helpers are classified separately, so you always know who is who.

Credentials

What we check before anyone deploys

01

The license, by trade and by state

Electrical, plumbing, and mechanical licenses are issued separately, often by different boards, and many cities add their own. We record who issued each one, the number, the expiration date, and the date we verified it. We never assume an out-of-state license carries over.

02

Trade certifications

EPA Section 608 for anyone who handles refrigerant, welder qualifications to the procedure your job specifies, and medical gas or backflow certifications where the work calls for them.

03

Safety training, separately

Safety training is tracked apart from trade licenses. A course completion doesn’t qualify anyone for trade work.

04

W-2 and E-Verify

Every worker is a W-2 employee of Alpha Labor, E-Verified at hire. Payroll, payroll taxes, and workers’ compensation sit on our side of the line.

How it works

From the call to the crew

  1. Tell us the assignment

The trade, your scope, crew makeup, qualification requirements, schedule, and location, plus who supervises and who supplies tools and PPE.

  2. We match and verify

We match each person to the actual tasks and equipment and verify licenses for that trade and jurisdiction. Project access requirements are confirmed against your contract.

  3. We deploy

Local people or traveling crews, with travel, lodging, and rotations set before anyone leaves.

  4. We check in

We review performance with you and replace anyone who isn’t the right fit, using the process we agreed up front.

What you keep

What stays yours

Here is the line, plainly.

  • The trade license and the permits
  • The contract and the scope
  • Direction and supervision of the work
  • Your relationship with the GC and the owner

We carry the payroll, the recruiting, and the license and certification records.

Why Alpha Labor

A new division, an established labor company

The MEP division is new. The company behind it is not: Alpha Labor already runs W-2 crews on hyperscale data center sites, so site onboarding, travel, lodging, and payroll are daily work here.

Our 0.71 EMR is company-wide, and it was earned on steel and panel work. Ask us for the numbers for your prequal.

Markets

Where we staff jobs

We are starting in Texas, Florida, and Ohio. Other states come assignment by assignment, once we have confirmed the rules for that trade, state, and city.

FAQ

Common questions

Are you an MEP contractor?

No. Alpha Labor Co. is a staffing company. We supply W-2 electrical, mechanical, and plumbing workers to licensed contractors in each trade, who hold the license and permits, keep the scope, and direct the work.

Can you staff more than one trade on the same job?

Yes, as long as each trade works under a contractor licensed for it. One request can cover your electricians, pipefitters, and plumbers.

Can a property owner or GC hire you for MEP work?

No. We do not offer MEP work to owners or GCs. Hire a licensed contractor in that trade, and if that contractor needs people, have them call us.

Do you take service calls or residential work?

No. No service calls, no houses, and no repair or maintenance work. We supply people to licensed contractors on commercial and data center jobs.

Who supervises the crew?

You direct the work. We settle the supervision arrangement and crew makeup with you before anyone deploys, including the apprentice supervision your state requires.

Does an out-of-state license carry over?

We never assume it does. We check the requirements for the trade, state, and city where the job is and place people whose licenses fit.

Do you staff fire protection, controls, or industrial process piping?

Not as a standing offer yet. We add a specialty when we have people verified for it and a contractor who needs them. Tell us what your job needs and we will give you a straight answer.

How do you bill?

Hourly. Rates depend on the trade, market, classification, specialty, and assignment conditions such as overtime, night shifts, and travel. On public and federal jobs we confirm wage, fringe, and payroll reporting requirements before we quote.

Where do you staff?

We are starting in Texas, Florida, and Ohio. Call (772) 285-6009 or send a request with the trade and job location, and we will tell you where that state stands.

Short on MEP hands? Tell us the job.

Send the trade, the location, the scope, the crew you need, and the start date. Our MEP division reviews every request personally.
