One metro, two states
Carter Lake is a quirk of the river. A flood in 1877 moved the Missouri's channel and left the town on the Nebraska side, wrapped by Omaha but still part of Iowa. It is a good reminder that an Omaha-metro job can be an Iowa job, with Iowa payroll and workers' comp rules. Alpha is licensed and bonded in all 50 states, so the crew can work either side of the line.
The Omaha market
The Omaha–Council Bluffs metro is one of the Midwest's data-center hubs, with large hyperscale campuses in Council Bluffs and Sarpy County, alongside food processing, distribution and manufacturing buildings across Douglas and Sarpy counties. Sarpy County, south of the city, is the fastest-growing part of the metro, with new industrial space along the Highway 370 and I-80 corridors. Our Carter Lake job ran a crew of 14 to 15 for most of its five weeks.
Down I-80 to Lincoln
Alpha's 2024 Nebraska work went beyond the Omaha metro: two 13-week jobs down I-80, one in Lincoln with up to 14 hands and one in Seward with up to 15. Together with Carter Lake, that is three Nebraska-area jobs in a single season, each staffed from the Kansas City base.
Paperwork on public jobs
Nebraska requires E-Verify for public employers and the contractors on their projects, and federally funded work in either state falls under Davis-Bacon with certified payroll. Alpha E-Verifies every hire in every state and supplies certified payroll when a job requires it.

Crews travel from Alpha's Kansas City base — about 185 road miles, roughly 3 hours by road. A foreman-led crew of 4 to 15 can be on site within 24 hours of the go-ahead; full hyperscale mobilizations take about two weeks.
